The upside of all this technology should be more free time. Now that we don’t have to do so many little things - flip light switches, use actual keys on our cars, even dial phone numbers - you’d think all the humans would be on a beach somewhere, living it up at the expense of the robots.
Nope. We’re more stressed and busy than ever.
There was a time when the word “busy” was tossed about light-heartedly; a word that you sighed wearily but good-naturedly when asked. That time is gone, and now we hurl the word viciously, an aggressive defense against further questioning. Don’t talk to me anymore, I’m busy.
But are we really busier? Or are we just more stressed?
