The Challenge
Minus 9 to 5, an initiative by Eastern Virginia Medical School, wanted to make its Regional Responsive Support for Educators (RRSE) training available beyond in-person sessions. The program’s core modules—Foundational Training, Interacting in Your Classroom, and Observations—were traditionally offered face-to-face, limiting reach and flexibility. The team needed a digital training platform that would allow educators to register, learn at their own pace, track progress, and earn certificates—all without the constraints of geography or timing.
The Solution
TechArk partnered with Minus 9 to 5 to design and build a custom online learning platform that transforms how the RRSE program is delivered. Built on WordPress, the new LMS hosts all course modules with embedded videos, quizzes, and personalized certificates, providing a seamless user journey where educators can easily register, progress through lessons, retake quizzes, and receive automatically generated certificates. The platform eliminates per-user licensing limits, allowing unlimited educators across the region to access training freely. Built-in reporting tracks registrations, quiz attempts, progress, and completions for quarterly and annual stakeholder reports, while the design and visuals align with the Minus 9 to 5 brand for a unified digital experience. The result is a powerful, self-paced eLearning environment that broadens access to early education training while minimizing administrative overhead.
