The Challenge
Support Services of Virginia (SSVA), a nonprofit with over 300 employees across multiple Virginia locations, faced a sudden compliance challenge. A new government mandate required annual employee certifications and training to be completed within a tight, unrealistic timeframe.
Previously, SSVA relied on in-person training—sending teams across Coastal, Central, and Southern Virginia. This was labor-intensive, costly, and unsustainable for ongoing annual requirements. SSVA needed a scalable, affordable way to deliver training, track completion, and maintain compliance without draining valuable time and resources.
The Solution
TechArk partnered with SSVA to create a fully web-based training and certification platform. After assessing their needs, we implemented a flexible, open-source Learning Management System (LMS) that enabled self-paced training and built-in quizzes.
We also developed a custom web portal that allowed supervisors to manage training records, track employee progress, and generate compliance certifications—all from one centralized system. By moving the entire process online, SSVA eliminated manual tracking, reduced travel costs, and gained a scalable solution for future certification needs.
