A website rebuild for Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake opens doors for homebound seniors and welcomes in compassionate volunteers and donors.
The Challenge
Since 1977, Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake (MOWC) has made a daily difference in the lives of older and disabled homebound residents. In addition to delivering healthy meals, MOWC staff and volunteers serve an essential social connection that feeds into seniors’ quality of life.
For an organization always on the go, the existing website started to lag behind. It lacked essential information and wasn’t easy for staff to keep up to date. Plus, an outdated design and non-intuitive navigation hindered the user experience. With budget constraints in mind, the client approached TechArk for a redesign rather than a rebuild.
The Solution
The MOWC team had a clear vision for the site, bringing a brand guide, images, full content and a revised site map to the table. Our team evaluated the client’s goals and advised that a complete WordPress website rebuild would be more cost-effective.
In collaboration with the client, our team cooked up a themed website that exceeded expectations and stayed within budget. The new design is cohesive and user-friendly. Plus, enhanced features like donation links and web form integration offer a level of interactivity that saves time and money.
Client Feedback
I’ve shared the site with staff, and we all LOVE the site! You caught the feel of MOWC so well. Love the page layouts, all the donate and wish list buttons, the clear and cohesive feel, as well as the optimism and beauty of the site. Thank you for the hard and thoughtful work you and your team have done! It’s amazing. – Megan Mann, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake
