‘Tis the Season … for Shopping!

At TechArk, we love all websites equally (and apps, and portals) but this time of year, we feel the need to show some love to a special breed of website: Ecommerce.

These websites act as online stores, allowing users to shop for gifts from the comfort of your own home, favorite coffee shop, or the aisles of the department store while you compare prices. At TechArk, we’ve built a number of these nifty sites, and since ‘tis the season to shop ‘till you drop, we’d like to tell you all about them.

Our neighbors, friends, and clients, Brand Fuel and their website will always have a special place in our hard drives. When we first started working with them, Brand Fuel needed help restructuring the organizational hierarchy of their website, its content, and their internal processes.

We were able to help by building out a multiple-store functionality, allowing them to create and manage several different “website stores” through one portal. This integration with a 3rd party processing system means that Brand Fuel can now display the promotional products from their catalog – with the shopper’s logo already featured!

They’ve continued to retain our services for site maintenance, consultations, and water cooler chats, and when they came to us with a feature touted by a competitor, we were able to help again. Using some existing functionality in the site, we were able to enable the same features in their site, with minimal fuss.

Ultima Tree is another of our ecommerce clients, although they didn’t start out that way. They were cautious when first approaching TechArk, giving us a test assignment – an ecommerce platform for selling one type of holiday tree. Of course, they quickly realized our potential and the project (like the Grinch’s heart) grew three sizes.

Just in time for the holiday rush, TechArk came through with a redesigned user experience and a fully-functional ecommerce website featuring FOUR trees. Ultima was pleased – but the real tree topper was the shipping capabilities we were able to incorporate.

Without altering, pausing, stopping, or otherwise even acknowledging Ultima’s existing internal shipping system, TechArk provided a solution to allow them to import orders, export tracking numbers to clients, and ship trees directly. This was crucial, as it meant that Ultima did not miss out on any business while we streamlined their process and improved their system, making everyone’s lives easier, and cutting costs.
