TechArk’s HQ resides in thriving downtown Norfolk, so there’s never any shortage of fun activities to fill our weekends. Whether we’re chowing down on Granby Street, oohing and aahing at the Nauticus Aquarium, or catching a show at the recently renovated Waterside District, we always know where the good times roll.
Therefore, when something new appears on the event horizon, and it involves one of our clients, we take notice.
Beginning Memorial Day weekend, our Virginia Beach client Chesapean Outdoors is teaming up with our downtown Norfolk neighbor Nauticus, to provide a new and exciting summer activity with their kayak rental program. Now locals and visitors alike can rent a kayak and paddle around Norfolks’ waterfront!
Kayaks are available in singles or doubles (tandem), and guided tours are offered, led by the renowned local experts at Chesapean Outdoors. Sail all the way around the Nauticus (it’s huge), Towne Point Park, and the Waterside District, and learn about the unique history of the area with your tour guide, or venture out with friends to explore on your own.

Chesapean Outdoors has been a client of TechArk’s since 2016, when we designed and built them a beautiful, fully responsive website on WordPress. We took our relationship a step further after Chesapean confided in us that they were wrestling with a tricky digital dilemma. Their customers needed a way to book kayak explorations directly from the site.
TechArk dove deep and emerged with a custom digital booking solution which, in the words of co-owner Katie Redford, was “100% worth it.” That’s what we like to hear, and in fact we still maintain their web services.
